Interview with Mario Kok
"Mexico has a great variety of climates. We have deserts in the North, tropical jungles in the south and everything else
in between. In central Mexico you can actually find snow covered mountain tops. I travel a lot in Mexico looking for
big carp, so I always have to adjust to the local circumstances. It is true that in three years I only had to fish with
severe rain maybe once or twice. But maybe I just pick good dates. I happen to hate fishing..."

Carp gaining major acceptance
They're big, strong and abundant, so what's not to like? The fly line was coming in normally when the red strike indicator twitched.
The line moved a little upriver, tightening ever so gently. Could it be, would it be?
I let the fish take it just a bit, lifted the heavy fly rod to feel for weight. When I felt something, I set the hook.
Only air.

Carp tourney brings out a youthful enthusiasm
OGDENSBURG — Young anglers lined up Saturday from Ogdensburg to Waddington for the last chance to get their hands on the St.
Lawrence River's carp — and thousands of dollars in prizes.
Marshals at the sixth annual St. Lawrence International Junior Carp Tournament also tagged all of the fish caught on behalf
of the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
The 11- to 18-year-old youths posed for photos with their fish as their catches were weighed and tagged before tossing
them back into the river. Each of the 176 competitors hoped to bring home a trophy and one of the cash prizes, which totaled $10,000.
